AZ-900: Describe the consumption-based model
Cloud mostly operate with the consumption-based model. Most service in the cloud can be paid as you use for example;
- Azure functions: Such services are charged when they are called or executed — usually less than a cent for the request.
- Virtual Machine: Hourly or time-based model. Typically, few cents or dollars per hour — based on the machine itself.
- Storage: Unmanaged storage account charges per Gigabyte. So, you pay as you consume.
The topic is included in exam AZ-900. It is part of module “Describe Cloud Concepts” and section “Identify the benefits and considerations of using cloud services”
